Had some first-timers onboard Reel Happy today for our first Raritan Bay Striper Fishing Charter. Brothers Bill Jr., Austin, and Anton, along with their father, Bill Sr. We started searching the river for bass with no takers, so we decided to make a run to the bay. It was a bit windy, but we headed to the spot anyway. All on Shad’s and artificials
It paid off. After the tide started going out — bang — the first fish came up, a solid 28" in the box. Made another drift and landed one more, a 29" caught by Bill Sr and a 31" caught by Anton. One more drift produced another 28", and we called it a day.
The brothers surprised Pops with this special trip, which turned out to be a successful day for the crew — and the first trip for Reel Happy in 2026.
